PATI - The First of It's Kind
PATI is the first, symptom-management, oral device technology that prevents tongue biting and drooling during seizures.
This symptom-management technology is ergonomically designed to safely and effectively prevent tongue biting during a seizure episode, while allowing for proper respiration and salivation.
It is housed in a kit that includes a wristband. It has applications for seizures that occur during the day, (upon experiencing an aura, the patient will administer the device prior to onset), and for episodes that may occur during the night, specifically, nocturnal seizure indications.
It's As Simple As...
- Before sleep, or before seizure onset at the start of an aura, the patient opens the kit and removes PATI.
- The patient inserts PATI into their mouth. During the day or while sleeping, if the patient experiences a seizure, PATI will serve as a protective device preventing injury to the tongue during an episode.
- After the seizure, the patient removes the device, discards it, and restocks kit with a new PATI.
